ARCH 333 - Technology V: Systems and Energy

3 Credit Hours
Design and expression for passive and active systems. Passive to include systems of daylighting, solar heating and cooling, including collection, storage, distribution, and shading. Active to include systems of mechanical heating, ventilation and cooling, and electric lighting, and their integration with passive design. Introduction to energy calculations and modeling, carbon performance, and on-site renewable power generation. Supports applications in design studio of projects with simple HVAC in skin-loaded buildings with few thermal zones.

Credit Restriction: Students may not receive credit for both ARCH 333 and the combination of ARCH 364  and ARCH 365 .
