CE 560 - Advanced Structural Mechanics3 Credit Hours Fundamentals of solid and structural mechanics. The tensorial nature of stress and strain and their principal governing equations. Description of boundary value problems and basic analytical solution techniques for two dimensional problems (planar elasticity). Failure theories. Energy principles relevant to the finite element method. Selected applications and advanced topics for structural materials. (RE) Prerequisite(s): 262 or equivalent.
