SOWK 510 - Social Work and Social Welfare Policies and Programs3 Credit Hours Will identify issues in social welfare policy and social service delivery at the micro, mezzo and macro levels of practice within the profession of social work. This includes neighborhood, local, state, national and international levels of policy practice. Will address methods which will expand the student’s capacity to promote social, economic and environmental justice and access to services. Such areas of policy practice as policy analysis and advocacy will be discussed and simulated. The history of the social work profession’s role in policy as well as ethical considerations will also be addressed. Registration Restriction(s): Graduate students only. Minimum student level – graduate.
