PHYS 671 - Advanced Solid State Physics3 Credit Hours Second quantization. Models of fermion and boson systems. Interacting electrons at the mean field level: Hartree-Fock and density functional theory. Linear response theory (I): Thomas-Fermi and Lindhard models, Friedel oscillations.
