BCPP 480 - Policy Process and Program Evaluation3 Credit Hours Exploration of theory and tools used in the creation, implementation, and evaluation of public policy and a review of the policy process. Application of policy theory, ethics, design, and measurement; development of tools for applied welfare economics, including cost-benefit analysis and cost-effectiveness analysis; and engagement in hands-on data analysis. Study of evidenced-based policymaking and the importance of stakeholder(s) input and promotion. Review of the roles, functions and decision-making processes of public policymakers, including legislative, executive and judicial actors, along with stakeholders, lobbyists, and interest groups.
