JREM 480 - Media Programming and Audience Research3 Credit Hours In an increasingly competitive, multiplatform, media environment, media outlets of all types need to find ways to attract the audiences they want and need for their continued success. Doing this effectively requires identifying the audience(s) various media want to reach, understanding their preferences and uses of media and content, determining content offerings, and gauging the effectiveness of programming efforts. An integral part of the course is audience research including ratings and applications for media companies.
