The curriculum for the Bachelor of Architecture degree includes a combination of required and elective courses offering the student both a solid professional program of study and a sound general education. While the majority of courses are designated as required, students may use the available architecture and general electives to broaden their education and to expand their knowledge in areas of personal interest.

All students studying for a Bachelor of Architecture degree will complete the following requirements in their course of study. For any additional specialized requirements, the student should refer to the Student Handbook of the School of Architecture and the student’s faculty advisor.

* Meets University General Education Requirement .
1 Students are not allowed to enroll simultaneously in two of these design courses.
2 Students are exempt from MATH 125  with a score of 25 or higher on the calculus readiness test. Students exempt from MATH 125  must take a higher-level Quantitative Reasoning elective  to meet the University General Education Requirement.
3 Elective distribution – Two courses from the Social Sciences (SS) list . Two courses from the Cultures and Civilizations (CC) list  (which includes intermediate-level foreign languages). Twelve hours of professional electives (Architecture 300-599 or Interior Design 300-499). Sixteen hours of non-architecture electives, which must include one course from the Natural Sciences (NS) list  with a laboratory and one course from the Communicating Orally (OC) list . Ten hours of open electives.
4 One course from the following Design Studio Options – ARCH 482 , ARCH 483 , ARCH 485 , ARCH 486 , ARCH 489 , or ARCH 490 .
