Geography Major, MS

The department offers the thesis and non-thesis options for the Master of Science. Both options require a minimum of 30 credit hours beyond the completion of a sound undergraduate major program. The MS program requires students to have some familiarity with key themes and approaches in both physical and human geography. At least two-thirds of the total credit hours in the degree program must be at or above the 500-level and must include GEOG 415 , GEOG 501  (at each offering during residency), GEOG 504 , and 3 credit hours at the 600-level. In the thesis option, 6 credit hours must be GEOG 500 - Thesis . A final examination is required in both thesis and non-thesis programs.

The department participates in the Interdisciplinary Watershed Minor program designed for both undergraduate and graduate students. See Watershed Minor , housed in the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, for program details.
