Computational Fluid Dynamics Graduate Certificate

Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: College of Engineering

The College of Engineering offers a graduate certificate in computational fluid dynamics (CFD). The program is designed primarily for the part-time student interested in gaining dexterity in this subject by taking a course sequence through distance education. All course work is permanently archived at the College of Engineering Computational Fluid Dynamics Laboratory website, hence available on demand on a totally flexible schedule.

The 12-hour certificate is earned by completing the three courses, ENSC 551 , ENSC 552 , and ENSC 581  (CFD Laboratory), which are extensively cross-listed among departments in the College of Engineering. The certificate is completed with one elective 3-hour course from an approved list. Those currently approved are CBE 529  and ECE 599  (Computer Fire Modeling). A wider selection of courses will be added when they become available.

The sole academic prerequisite for the certificate program is a bachelor’s degree in engineering. Applicants must meet the minimum admission requirements of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Graduate and International Admissions Office and become admitted thereto.
